Rolling Stone SA's First issue

I honestly didn't think that these nuts were seriously going to launch Rolling Stone South Africa! I don't know, for me Rolling Stone is just one of the things synonymous with the US, as is Starbucks, Barney's and my husband. What business do such brands/people have in this country?! Riddle me that

Cover PageBut anyways, despite my utter disbelief, the mag was launched on the 30th on November and gracing the inaugural cover was Mr Rock n Roller himself, Mkhulu Hugh Masekela

Applause must be spared where applause is due and although I feel this picture of Mkhulu is a tad too Capetonian gangster-like (note the "chain") I still heart it! Stellar job, although sadly that's as far as my attention will linger on the publication. But, for those interested here's a bit of a teaser from the 1st issue:

“Pussy is the gateway to the earth. But we disrespect it… What guy hasn’t treated his lady badly by fucking around, huh?” Hugh Masekela’s eyes dart out into space, challenging, daring his audience to agree. Silence. Then a tentative show of hands from his entourage. “Huh-huh-huh!” His baritone chuckle cascades from deep in his diaphragm. The 72-year-old Bra is shooting the breeze, taking five between laying down some choice new jazz joints in his studio. "

SA's newest celeb couples

You know what's sad? What's sad is people who've had cameo appearances in a few music videos pretending they're celebrities! It's sad, it's ANNOYING! I'll say this again: this country has no celebrities, least of all "video vixens"
Right, now that THAT'S done and dusted... Boity (the video vixen and Minenhle Dlamini look and sound-alike) has been spotted out and about with Mr. Millennium aka Andile Ncube on more than one occassion!

What's slightly interesting with these two is they apparently arrive together, pretend to not know each other the whole night, then end the "secret" rendezvous by sneaking out together. Are they, are they not...

NEXT...

There was a time when I wanted Moki (one half of KoldProduk) for my lonesome self. Thank the heavens I stopped drinking! But when one comes to their senses another loses it. Elana Afrika and Moki are a confirmed couple (I'd also like to know ukuthi bashelane nini 0_o) Elana, fix your hair nana, only hoodrats can sport THAT look, you know..."THAT LOOK"

Yawn, yawn, yawn...Relationships are overrated (says the one who's run out of batteries)
