The Soil-God's gift to Mother Earth

Very rarely do I run into such talent, and I seldom take my imaginary hat off to young people in the entertainment industry. This isn't because I don't recognise the talent but because I take into consideration what this talent does after hours (snorting up off-white powders and drinking like they're of aquatic descent)! I chill with a lot of these young "stars" so I know exactly what I'm talking about. But then I came across these souls...The Soil. I don't want to say much about them before you take a look for yourself, so play the video below and enjoy...

"Quick, go to YouTube and search for Sunday by The Soil. You won't be sorry thank me later" This is how I came to know of The Soil, a fresh, raw acapella sound delivered by three gifted souls. Now, everybody knows I'm not the kindest of people but I think it takes a big little girl [myself ;-)] to admit when somebody has a good thing going for them. This trio is young, gifted and black and as a youthful South African, I can't be mad at that. I like seeing this much dedication married with passion and talent, it's a fool-proof way of ensuring success be it on a personal, national or international level.

I do have one qualm with their publicity management though: The Soil should be much bigger than they are right now, you can't under-exploit such talent by exposing them to only a thousand-strong crowd at the Grahamstown Film Festival and a few other television shows thereafter. They should be touring the country already, lending their soulful sound (which carries elements of healing) to the lost Ipad generation South Africa refers to as their youth.

I love these guys and I was really disappointed I couldn't get the album at my local Musica. But if there's one album everyone should invest in, it's The Soil's debut album. Find them on their Official Facebook Page because besides that, there isn't much info you'll find on them.

I'm really proud of these cats, God bless them
